Dubai to Implement Dh25 Congestion Fee for Event Parking
Starting from February 2025, drivers in Dubai will incur parking fees of Dh25 per hour in designated event zones as part of the Roads and Transport Authority’s (RTA) Congestion Pricing Policy.
The Congestion Pricing system will first be rolled out around the Dubai World Trade Centre during major events, with plans to extend it to other event venues in the future.
The goal of this initiative is to promote public transportation usage and ease traffic congestion in high-demand areas.
A similar measure was introduced on December 31, 2023, when dynamic pricing for taxis was applied from 6 pm until January 1, 2024. During this period, the minimum fare increased to Dh20 instead of Dh12 at key event locations, including the World Trade Centre, Expo City, and Global Village. The RTA also noted that the dynamic fare would apply to taxis hailed from areas where New Year’s Eve fireworks took place. ICA/Expat Media
